Apple Cobbler

8 cups pared apple slices (about 6 medium)
1/2 cup sugar (you may want more if apples are very tart)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt

hipped cream or ice cream to garnish
Methods/steps
Heat oven to 350.
Place apples in the greased dish. Mix 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sprinkle over apples. Mix flour, 1 cup sugar, butter, egg, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl until combined. (Mix will be dry.) Sprin
kle flour mix over apples. Bake until crust is golden, about 1 hour. Serve with whipped or ice cream.
